This deep purple kanzashi has a vibrancy lent by the use of bright kimono print cotton and a red bead at it's centre. It's a really cute piece!
A medium (3 inches diameter), 12 petal flower made of deep purple habotai silk and multicoloured Japanese kimono print cotton.
There is a red bead in the middle and it is backed with brown felt and a crocodile clip and brooch finding.
Please bear in mind that the colours you see on your screen may not exactly match the appearance of the kanzashi 'in the flesh', though I have tried to show them as accurately as possible!

Kanzashi are Japanese hair ornaments. Hana kanzashi means ‘flower kanzashi’ and simply refers to the flower shape of the hair accessories. Tsumami kanzashi means kanzashi that are made by pinching silk to form petals and is the Japanese traditional craft which inspires my own kanzashi.
