This fabric flower kanzashi hairclip is made with habotai silk, which gives it a wonderful softness and lustrous colour. The method of folding the silk squares by hand is time consuming and detailed, but gives a unique three-dimensional effect.
Wear as a wedding headbpiece, or a bridal fascinator, for a truly unique look.
This piece is made to order, so please allow 1 week for the item to be made before it is posted.
An extra large (5 inches diameter), 32 petal flower with 4 layers of 8 petals around.
There are pale pink stamens in the middle and it is backed with pale grey felt and a crocodile hair clip.
The petals are:
Centre layer: Fuchsia silk
2nd layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 white silk petals
3rd layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 white silk petals
4th layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 white silk petals
Please bear in mind that the colours you see on your screen may not exactly match the appearance of the kanzashi 'in the flesh', though I have tried to show them as accurately as possible!

Kanzashi are Japanese hair ornaments. Hana kanzashi means ‘flower kanzashi’ and simply refers to the flower shape of the hair accessories. Tsumami kanzashi means kanzashi that are made by pinching silk to form petals and is the Japanese traditional craft which inspires my own kanzashi.
